Jenny Duff mats in the Margate Mercury
Now on it's third issue Margate Mercury is becoming a Margate institution. Founded using Kickstarter, it works on the principle of being free to readers and offers insights into the town. I'm pleased to say that some of the Walpole Champneys designs have been featured in the current magazine in The Gift List - grab your copy now, it's a good read...
Walpole Champneys at Lombard Street Gallery, Margate
It was an honour to have the Walpole Champneys table mats included in a recent exhibition at Lombard Street Gallery in Margate. The feature wall was created using archive images from the Dreamland Trust archive and featured new scarves designed from original concepts by Walpole Champneys. World Book Night: 23rd April 2013
Today I visited St Margaret-at-Cliffe on the beautiful Kent coast and discovered the house of Ian Fleming nestled under the white cliffs, which has been so wonderfully illustrated by People Will Always Need Plates as one of their range of mugs. I was very pleasantly surprised to be offered a copy of Ian Fleming's book Casino Royale by a passer-by who was distributing it as part of the great World Book Night event, what a co-incidence...
Aunty Nora's Vintage and Handmade Market
I've been invited to take part in Aunty Nora's "A Vintage Christmas" in Deal, Kent on Saturday 22nd December and so will be setting my stall up there for the day, along with lots of other designer/makers and collector/dealers. I hope that if you are in the area you will pop by and see me at some point during the day, even if only for some mulled wine and mince pies as respite from your busy Christmas preparations...hope to see you there...
