It's October and that means that it is time for East Kent Artists Open Houses, EKOH for short, and I'm delighted to have been invited by printmaker Turquoise Gem Home and jeweller Ami Blastock to join them in their workspaces.
The photo shows me holding the current issue of Broadstairs Beacon, which holds a full page article about EKOH, including the following about Jenny Duff...
Jenny Duff will join them for the first weekend only, showing the table mats and coasters that she has been designing since 1999. Her work has travelled considerably further than Broadstairs, finding its way into homes, restaurants and shops overseas, but the local landscape still has a say.
"The calming influence of the elements, the sound of the sea, the light and colour affect my outlook and viewpoint", she says.
Duff will also be showing a new set by Broadstairs-based paper artist Clare Youngs, depicting suns in her distinctive collage style.
Come and join the trail, take a look around studios and workspaces that are not usually open to the public, and find something beautiful and unusual to buy and take home, or if you can bear to part with it, to give as a gift to someone special!
