Now on it's third issue Margate Mercury is becoming a Margate institution.  Founded using Kickstarter, it works on the principle of being free to readers and offers insights into the town.  I'm pleased to say that some of the Walpole Champneys designs have been featured in the current magazine in The Gift List - grab your copy now, it's a good read...

Lianne Lucas of Lulu & Luca has a fantastic eye for pattern and detail and produces these wonderfully printed products.  Taking inspiration from the decorative arts each piece is thoughtfully designed and lovingly printed and made up in the UK.  I first saw the products at one of the Crafty Fox Markets and as well as being beautiful, the finish is excellent - definitely something to that will add to your home or make a perfect gift...

Coastal Makers Open House, 9 Cannon Street, Deal CT14 6QASaturday 10 December 2016, 12 noon to 7pm I spotted this poster on a trip to the lovely seaside town of Deal and was very pleasantly surprised to find an email inviting me to take part.  The event is organised by Coastal Makers a group of clever makers and the work on sale will include prints, textiles, homewares (including Jenny Duff mats), jewellery and ceramics. 

Resort Studios X-mas Fair, Resort Studios, 50 Athelstan Road, Margate CT9 2BHSaturday 3 December 2016, 11am to 4pm Resort Studios contains workspace for artists, designers and creative businesses to produce, collaborate and engage and run a number of events and exhibitions throughout the year as well as being home to Hello Print Studios and The Darkroom which offer workshops and print facilities. The X-mas Fair is an opportunity to meet some of the members of Resort and their guests (which includes me), to discuss the work and buy directly from the artist and maker.
