Aunty Nora's Vintage and Handmade Market

  I've been invited to take part in Aunty Nora's "A Vintage Christmas" in Deal, Kent on Saturday 22nd December and so will be setting my stall up there for the day, along with lots of other designer/makers and collector/dealers.  I hope that if you are in the area you will pop by and see me at some point during the day, even if only for some mulled wine and mince pies as respite from your busy Christmas preparations...hope to see you there...

The Queen's Placemats

   Her Majesty The Queen visited 10 Downing Street yesterday and was given a set of 60 placemats by  members of her cabinet.  The mats were produced by Lady Clare who manufacture the table mats for Jenny Duff (my process is that I do all the printing and then my prints are made into wonderful Melamine mats, fit for a Queen, by Lady Clare).  It is a purely Great British product.  Well done Lady Clare and I hope Her Majesty enjoys her dinners and parties using her set of new mats...

I love the vibrant colours which Gillian has used, together with the retro symmetry.The designs can easily be mixed and matched.    I'll be joining many other designer makers (including mini moderns, People Will Always Need Plates, Rupert Blanchard and Sophie Cook) showing our work at midcentury.modern at Dulwich College, London SE21 7LD on Sunday 2nd December 2012 from 10am to 4pm The show is a delight, as it not only promotes the work of modern day creators, but has a whole hall (or more) full of fantastic retro furniture and homewares - if you love your vintage to be midcentury, you'll love this show - hope to see you there...
